Thank you for purchasing and using our products. For your safety and interests, please read the instruction manual carefully before using it.

Precautions for use

1. Carefully consider jack ratings before making a selection. Make sure that all anticipated loads, whether static, dynamic, or shock, fall within the rated capacity of the jack at reasonable safety levels.
2. Carefully consider the combination of screw shaft rpm and rated load. Also, take extra care in verifying rated buckling load, and shaft rpm. Exceeding the data provided in this catalog can cause major damage to the system.
3. Confirm that the operating temperature of the jack is within −15~80℃. To measure, check the surface temperature of the input shaft(or nut, if used). Make sure that all rotating parts are completely stopped before proceeding to measure.
4. Do not exceed the maximum rpm of 1500/min.
5. The allowable duty cycle for screw jacks is based upon several application variables such as load, speed, and temperature. Usually, duty cycle at 30-minute intervals for SJW machine screw jacks and SJC worm gear screw jacks is within 20% ED, SJB machine ball screw jacks and SJD worm gear ball screw jacks is within 30% ED.

6. Be sure not to exceed the maximum input torque for multiple jack systems by verifying the rated input torque for each jack.
7. Activating torque should be maintained at 200% above the required torque.
8. If operating in freezing temperatures, a change in viscosity may reduce the efficiency of the grease. Set the drive unit to
accommodate this change.
9. Although the trapezoidal screw jack is equipped with a self-locking device, vibration and shock may affect its efficiency, in which case a brake unit is required. Because of their extremely high efficiencies, ball screw jack must have sufficient brake units that overpower their holding torques.
10. Evaluate operating environment based on the following:
Location Indoors where rain and moisture are not present
Room Condition Dust Volume - Normal
Ambient Temperature -15℃ to 80℃ (See General Notes No.3)
Relative Humidity 85% or less (no dew condensations.)
11. When the dust level is high, protect the shaft with a bellows. The bellows, which are not water-proof, do not prevent external water from entering and grease in the jack from penetrating to the outside. (For outdoor use, place a cover to protect jack from factors such as rain and wind).
12. When the screw jack is working, an artificially forced shutdown should not be conducted, otherwise will make the screw jack received badly damaged condition.
13. If you use a special environment, please contact our engineer team at sales@screwjack.net

Installation requirements
(1): Please calibration the centerline height when base installation and calibration coaxial when couplings are connected. Ensure the geometric tolerance of each installation connection when a rigid connection. ( drawings 5, drawings 6)
(2):  During the screw jack installation, should ensure the absolute vertical of the screw jack and the mounting surface, external lateral force upon  screw jack is prohibited, the lifting screw is only subjected to axial forces. ( drawings 7 )
(3): When installation the housing of screw jack, we should consider the worm gear housing under the static load and impact load of the housing rigidity, reasonable installation, avoid the body mounting holes for a damaged.

(4): When screw jack installation, we should install the guide device reasonably according to site working condition, should ensure no lateral force imposed on the lifting screw. ( drawings 8 )
(5): Screw jack housing must be firmly installed in the machinery equipment to avoid loosening or vibration.
(6): Before installing the screw jack, drive source, and equipment, we should check the deviation dimensions of shaft diameter, aperture, key, and keyway to avoid assemble too tight damage the bearing and assemble too loose affect the power transmission.
(7): When using the motor direct-connected the screw jack, if the motor weight is too large, please set up a support device. ( drawings 9 )
(8): When the sprockets, gears, and other transmission parts mount the shaft extension, should be close to the bearing to reduce the axial extension bending stress. Install bolts generally adopt 8.8 high strength bolts.

Operation and maintenance

(1): Please add 0 # or 1 # lithium grease before using the screw jack ( Refueling capacity, please refer below sheet ), we should also daub the lithium grease on the lifting screw and traveling nut. ( Special working environment, oil grade, please contact our technical staff. )

(2): Before testing the screw jack, please make a limit position and confirm the lifting screw rotate direction to prevent the lifting screw get off or go top to the housing, causing damage.
(3): Grease should be regularly added according to the use of the operating conditions.
(4): If an abnormal situation is found during work, the machine should be shut down for inspection, and identify the troubleshooting before continuing to work.
(5):Since the worm gear and the movement nut are wear and tear parts, they should be checked regularly to avoid safety accidents during operation.
(6):The screw jack should be always kept clean, the outside surface shall not accumulate dust to avoid affect heat dissipation. Storage:Store in dry ventilation, room temperature environment. When the storage time is more than three months, you should be done anti-rust treatment. When the screw jack storage time is more than one year, please check whether the oil seal is aging and whether oil deterioration.
